Hello ifeminists:

It is a bright Tuesday morning in this corner of Canada and I hope the
sun is shining on you as well.

This weeks' editorials have been posted: my FOXNews/ifeminist column,
"Abused Women Have Choices"
<http://www.ifeminists.com/introduction/editorials/2002/0827.html>; "Labor
Day and 9/11: Glass Ceilings and Glass Cellars" by Warren Farrell
<http://www.ifeminists.com/introduction/editorials/2002/0827.html>; and,
"They're Only Boys" -- an article from the archives of Tresa McBee.
<http://www.ifeminists.com/introduction/editorials/2002/0827b.html>. Enjoy!

Please consider supporting ifeminists by purchasing the ifeminist
anthology "Liberty For Women"
<http://www.independent.org/tii/catalog/cat_LFW.html> and visiting the
ifeminist store <http://www.cafeshops.com/cp/store.aspx?s=ifeminists> to
browse through our T-shirts, hats and coffee mugs. There's even a promotion
going on in the store: until the end of August, you'll receive a free Plush
American Eagle for every $25 purchase.

September will lure a lot of students back onto campus and I hope you
all remember to use the ifeminist database
<http://www.ifeminists.com/information/> as a resource tool and as a source
of ideas for essays, etc. It is free and easy to use. Think of it as your
own.

Now ... onto the main event ...

Is an Australian 'baby bonus' family friendly?
----------
Online Opinion

"When politics is dressed up as economics, the result is

population by paying women to have children. (07/30/02)

For safer streets, give women guns
----------
Boston Globe
by Jeff Jacoby
"Criminals are less likely to attack a victim who may be

straightforward common sense. But that attitude is alien
to 'progressive' venues like Boston." (08/22/02)
