Nice to see your face smiling down over the site, Chris. I've had my first deep disagreement with the father's rights movement or, at least, some voices within that movement. It concerns the recent court injunction brought against a pregnant woman to prevent a first trimester abortion: the injunction was at the behest of her ex-boyfriend. I think the injunction is a travesty, and it would be disastrous for the father's rights movement to endorse a man's legal "right" to control a woman's body. That position is as appalling as the flip side -- the injunctions women bring against men in family court. And ifeminists will have no part of promoting either. (See item below entitled "Nation watching abortion case.") For details on the disagreement, which I am still trying to sort out, see my weblog, McBlog <http://www.zetetics.com/mac/>. Attention women readers! (Sorry for the exclusion, men...) I am compiling a feature article for Penthouse magazine on women's reactions to pornography and I would value/appreciate any feedback that women are willing to share with me in private email interviews: mac@ifeminists.com. Anonymity is guaranteed tho' I'll have to give contact info to my editor for the unlikely possibility that he wants to contact my sources to verify accuracy. My deadline is September 1st so I'll be blazing ahead on the article and waiting for your input. Thanks! The new editorials are posted on the front page and we have a bumper crop. My FOXNews/ifeminists piece "Circumcision: Routine procedure or child abuse?" <http://www.ifeminists.com/introduction/editorials/2002/0806.html>; "NOW Distances Itself from the Family Court Report and NAFCJ" by Trudy Schuett <http://www.ifeminists.com/introduction/editorials/2002/0806a.html>; "Fast-Food Lawsuit Denies Personal Responsibility" by George Getz <http://www.ifeminists.com/introduction/editorials/2002/0806b.html>; and, "Child Support Enforcement Act Substitutes Political Grandstanding for Leadership" by Glenn Sacks and Dianna Thompson <http://www.ifeminists.com/introduction/editorials/2002/0806c.html>.
