Hello ifeminists:

I'm back at the computer from an exhausting whirlwind of lecturing at
Bryn Mawr for the Institute for Humane Studies. 61 of the brightest students
I've seen in years gathered to challenge just about every statement and
theory presented by the five faculty members in what was a week of
tremendous intellectual growth for us all. More details can be gleaned from
my venture into weblogging called the McBlog <http://www.zetetics.com/mac/>.
Blog on ifeminists!

Like everything else, ifeminists.com is flowing a little slower due to
the lull that is July-August ... but only a little bit. The BB
<http://www.ifeminists.com/interaction/forum/feminism0207e/index.html> had
to be archived five times in July, membership keeps up its steady growth,
and abusive/threatening letters from PC feminists keeping popping into the
editor's inbox. I know 'cuz that's me. The PC crowd just doesn't realize
that intimidation tactics don't work anymore. They can no longer frighten
other women into silence.

Ifeminists.com is always grateful to those who show support for the
organization and for the ideas by either shopping at the ifeminists.com
store <http://www.cafeshops.com/cp/store.aspx?s=ifeminists> or by purchasing
the new ifeminist anthology "Liberty for Women," perhaps as a gift for a
woman friend <http://www.independent.org/tii/catalog/cat_LFW.html>. I thank
you in advance.

The new weekly editorials are posted on the front page: "Listening" --
my FOX/ifeminists column; "The Pentagon funds Lap Dancing" by George Getz.
Enjoy!

Now ... onto the main event...

                             -- Wendy McElroy, mac@ifeminists.com
