Hello ifeminists:

What a week! Either the world has to slow down or I have to get off
caffeine. (And, given that Brad and I now define a "wild" time as putting a
scoop of regular in with the decaf, I am loathe to give up my morning mug of
vice.) Like everyone else, I am on edge about turmoil in the Middle East.

Please remember you've got a home and a way to distract yourself at
ifeminists.com. Lose yourself in the Bulletin Board
<http://www.ifeminists.com/interaction/forum/feminism0204/index.html> or in
browsing the constantly updated database
<http://www.ifeminists.com/information/directorybytopic/> with several
hundred offering to amuse and enlighten. The front page editorials
<http://www.ifeminists.com> have been updated: "Law School Lawsuit Threatens
Academic Freedom" by me; "Confronting Women-Bashing in the Men's Movement"
by Glenn Sacks; and "Stop Treating Students Like Criminals" by Ron
Crickenberger. Surely, we can tempt you with something. I know, I know ...
stop calling you Shirley.

I hope everyone is entering for the April prize package which includes:
an 1890 letter on National-American Woman Suffrage Association letterhead,
handwritten and signed by its press secretary Ellen Battelle Dietrick;
Francisco Ferrer Association letterhead (1903, no writing) with Emma
Goldman, Helen Tufts, etc., listed on the side as Committee members; The
Free Speech League letterhead (1902, no writing) with the likes of Benjamin
Tucker listed as Committee members; an oversized Portrait Souvenir with
photos of the Clarion Club Lecturers for 1903, including Charlotte Perkins
Gilman and Marion Craig Wentworth. You *must* be a member of ifeminists.com
to enter -- but membership is easy, fast and free.
<http://www.ifeminists.com/cgi/join.cgi> Enter at the upper right hand
section of our front page <http://www.ifeminists.com/interaction/contest/>
for the prize that will be awarded at the end of April. Good luck!

     It is with pride that I announce Sunni Maravillosa's coup-de-tete ... I
mean, her willingness to take over the ifeminist/mensactivism chat room. ;-)
Thanks many times over Sunni; I can't think of a better hand to have on
the rudder. This Sunday's chat room
<http://www.ifeminists.com/interaction/chat/>, April 7 at 9:00 p.m. EST,
will be my way of introducing you to Sunni and of having members say "hi."
FYI, Sunni is well-know author on several topics, including why/how women
should defend both themselves and the Second Amendment. Bring your questions
about gun rights, ifeminism, the Men's Movement...you name it. Sunni and I
will try to answer.

Now ... onto the main event...
