Hello ifeminists:

A full moon tonight. Was that a thud on the stairwell? Did your
forearms turn to chicken skin from an elusive horror, glimpsed? No, no, no!
I have not joined NOW. I am getting into the mood of my favorite holiday,
Hallowe'en. I wish each of you a frightening October 31st, with a movie that
makes your hand freeze in the popcorn, the flickering eyes of a candled
Jack-o-Lantern, children knocking at your door who are better behaved than I
was at that age. I remember fondly my brother and I trolling the
countryside, making threats in doorways, "Trick or treat, trick or treat,
give me something good to eat, not too large, not too small, just the size
of Montreal." Be a kid this Hallowe'en and have a blast!

The ifeminist-of-the-month for November is Scott Garman, the founder
and force behind Men's Activism <http://www.mensactivism.org/>. Scott and I
have decided that the Men's Movement and Ifeminism should join hands and
launch some joint ventures -- the nature of which is still being discussed.
No existing feature of ifeminists.com will change and the co-operation is
not a merger. Rather, we are talking about setting up a joint Bulletin
Board, advertising each other, speaking together at events, and --
perhaps -- a joint anthology in which leaders of the Men's Movement and
representatives of "sane" feminism try to hash out together our areas of
difference. Thanks to Scott for the good will and trust he showed in
accepting the hand I extended.

Speaking of anthologies ... Men's Activism is actively seeking
fiction, non-fiction, poetry, journalistic commentary/articles) for
publication in a new anthology of masculist literature. Women seem to be
welcome. For more information, click here.

This weeks editorial is entitled "War is Not a Vehicle for Social
Agendas" <http://www.ifeminists.com/>. And the hot discussion on the
Bulletin Board this week revolves around animal rights. To begin the wild
theoretical ride, click here.

Please note that there will be no InsiderUpdate next week since I
will be on the road, debating pornography and prostitution with Kathleen
Barry ("Female Sexual Slavery") at various universities. The schedule is
posted at my home page <http://www.zetetics.com/mac/>. Fearless Leader Louis
James has suggested I keep a diary of the events for posting and those are
my plans.

And as a last note, I want to welcome AASG James Hanback as a
contributor of occasional guest editorials to future editions of
ifeminists.com. (AASG = All Around Spiffy-sorta Guy.)

       Now...onto the main event.
