Hello ifeminists:

Exclusive to the ifeminist.com Bulletin Board: Brad R.'s parody of
Gilbert and Sullivan's song "A Modern Major General" which is entitled "A
Modern Gender Feminist." It is the concluding item in the InsiderUpdate
but, if you wish to read the parody posted by Julian S. in response ...
well, you'll just have visit the BB. And say "hi" while you're there.
<http://www.ifeminists.com/interaction/forum/feminism0108b/index.html>

Another item to make you smile, one of my goals ;-), is Algebra for
Adulterers <http://slate.msn.com/math/01-08-16/math.asp>, subtitled, "What
every philandering politician and traveling salesman should know about the
odds of getting caught." For example, "Let g be the number of girlfriends
the congressman has; then the number of pairs of mothers he has to worry
about is about (1/2)g2 ..."

Remember that the ifeminist staunch CometBaby, comet@ircpolitics.org,
hosts an online chat every Wednesday at 10 p.m. EST. Of particular interest
is her program for September 19th which features Izabel (Izzy) Lyman on the
Homeschooling Revolution.

I was very pleased to hear from Ovidie, a prominent French porn
producer and actress, who is also a fan of the InsiderUpdate.
<http://www.ovidie-pornslut.com/Féminisme-Pro-Sexe.htm> Ovidie wrote in
about an item we featured a few weeks ago on "porno chic" in France -- the
tendency of "respectable" businesses to adopt pornographic images in
advertising. She commented on the backlash her industry is experiencing as
a result. "It's not politically correct to fight against Christian Dior
advertising executives or journalists who sell their shit talking about how
big are any star's breasts. So they are fighting against us. And we are in
a really bad mess now!!!" Hang in there Ovidie and keep us informed of what
happens.

      And, now...onto the main event!

Doris Lessing tells feminists to lay off men

Not long ago, women had no property rights
----------
by Virginia Postrel

Sexual harassment and the cost of tuition
----------
by Wendy McElroy
Hundreds of thousands of parents are tightening their belts

Of prostitutes and bureaucrats
