Hello ifeminists:
14 days and counting 'til Christmas! When the count gets to 12, lighten
the pressure by printing out the "12 PC days of Christmas" from the
newsletter. Thanks to David T. for posting it on the ifeminists.com BB where
the debate on men's rights/responsibilities in abortion has finally died
down after 150+ posts.
<http://www.ifeminists.com/interaction/forum/feminism0112/index.html>
Men and abortion was the topic of the first joint
ifeminists.com/mensactivism.org chat room last Sunday at 9:00 p.m. EST. Mark
your calendars because -- it was so much fun and so well attended -- we
intend to meet every week. Same time, same place
<http://www.ifeminists.com/interaction/chat/>. Next Sunday's topic will be
whether men have been as oppressed by the Taliban as women. The Sunday
thereafter ... an expert on genetics will drop by to discuss the
implications of new reproductive technology for men and women. I'll be
waiting at the cyber-door to say "hello."
Despite the fact that I forget to include instructions on how to enter
the contest :-(, we had three winners last week: Dean H., Patricia S. and
Spooky. The three winners of Tracy Quan's book will be announced next week
after everyone has been contacted. Meanwhile *this* week's book prizes, 5 in
number, are: "Individualist Feminism of the Nineteenth Century" by Wendy
McElroy; "These are Not Sweet Girls: Poetry by Latin American Women;" and,
for the many SF fans on the list, three Ace Double Classic Novels from the
vintage years. (Please note, these are used book in good condition.) Winners
who specify a preference for the latter can choose between titles that will
be provided. TO ENTER: write to mac@zetetics.com with CONTEST in the subject
line and please give ranking of preference for your book prize.
The world continues to spin quickly. Hang on tight, my friends.
Now...onto the main event.
-- Wendy McElroy, mac@ifeminists.com

International Society for Individual Liberty

consent." ISIL pamphlet explains why freedom of

Men are victims of domestic violence
----------
Nuance Journal
This paper challenges this notion of abuse against males
and argues that domestic violence against males exists,
that their voices are not heard; and that the refusal to
acknowledge the existence of this form of abuse is part
of a fundamental disempowerment of men which has arisen
from a tacit acceptance in society of the radical
feminist notion that only women are victims.
