partially from the following: Moley's "After Seven Years";
William Starr Myers and Walter H. Newton's "The Hoover Administration"
(Scribner, 1936); Rixey Smith and Norman Beasley's "Carter
Glass" (Longman's, 1939). Mr. Moley wrote from the point
of view of Mr. Roosevelt; Messrs. Myers and Newton from the point
of view of Mr. Hoover. However, I have had the opportunity of
personally interviewing various persons intimately connected with
these events and in some cases of examining notes made by them
at the time.
