Hello ifeminists:

Some of you will remember Dagny Sharon's big-hearted appeal to
ifeminists on behalf of orphans on her island of Barbados. Now Dagny
writes, "Thanks to everyone who sent boxes of clothes, toys, and especially
books to our children's homes. I actually got phone calls and a letter of
thanks! More importantly, one of the local newspapers has agreed to support
my 'No More Orphans' project." Only 70 adoptable children remain, meaning
that Barbados could become a country without orphans. Thanks Dagny.

Jim Thornton has paid ifeminists.com the sincere flattery of
imitating our name. His free market environmental site is iGreens and it is
well worth a look. <http://www.igreens.org.uk>

The ifeminist editorial this week is "Second-Hand Harassment" and
warns of a possible expansion of the definition of sexual harassment in the
wake of a recent EEOC determination.
<http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,26377,00.html> While you
are checking it out, introduce yourself to Mary Lou Gutscher, the
ifeminist-of-the-month for June, whose face will be smiling back at you.

The new moderated e-mail list, Healing the Breach, is off to a
running start, with over 40 members already and a bustling discussion on
what men and women want from each other. Sign up at
<http://www.ifeminists.com>. If you don't want to deal with a lot of
traffic from the list, write a note to me requesting that e-mails be
delivered in "digest" form.

      Now...onto the main event...

----------
by Joan Smith
In musing about Marilyn Monroe and the feminist "victim
